The Winslow Arts Trust (WAT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating exhibits and programs that celebrate the culture of Winslow and the Route 66 corridor. WAT has three affiliates that host and develop cultural events: La Posada Hotel, El Gran Art Garage, and Snowdrift Art Space. The combined exhibition / event space of WAT and its affiliates is 36,000 square feet with an additional 8 acres of exterior grounds and garden.

WAT’s first project is the Route 66 Art Museum, which will be housed in the newly restored La Posada Depot. Starting in 2012, the parking lot and vacant field east of La Posada will be converted into an orchard, a potager garden, and a sculpture garden. The central feature of the garden will be a sky space by the internationally recognized artist James Turrell. A portion of the depot will provide a gateway to Turrell’s Roden Crater project, located northwest of Winslow.
